Hello and welcome to my personal blog! My name is Janicka Renee, and I am excited to share my journey with you! This is not the normal blog, and you may be wondering about the name Tattoos & Pearls? We aren’t blogging about tattoos or pearls…. What?!! That’s right, let me explain….

I have a tattoo of a phoenix surrounded by pearls and flowers. It’s one of over 30 and my favorite! The phoenix stands for me rising from the ashes and pearls stand for the beauty that came from my trials. I have overcome trauma, along with emotional, and physical health crises, I had to learn how to live well even as a licensed nurse!

My husband and I currently own and run a tax and bookkeeping business and have been married for over 16 years! We have two amazing children, named Nia and Ian, they are so much fun! After years of learning so many lessons, I wanted to create a space to encourage entrepreneurs. People like us who have not done everything right, we have failed many times and gotten back up, to beat the odds! Statistics say that we should not have made it in business or marriage but…we are in the best place we have ever been in. One of my mottos has become -it is not easy to live well but it’s worth it!
